WINTER SEASON RIDDIM produced by SGK RECORDS & ROCKERS MIX ENTERTAINMENT 2012
Winter Season Overview
In 2012, a new dancehall riddim called "Winter Season Riddim" dropped and quickly became a favorite at parties and dances. The riddim came from Jamaica’s vibrant scene and was produced by SGK RECORDS and ROCKERS MIX ENTERTAINMENT, two labels known for pushing fresh sounds in dancehall. SGK RECORDS, in particular, has worked with a range of upcoming and established artists, helping to shape the modern dancehall sound. The project brought together a strong lineup of artists. Gusomaine made an impact with the track "Winter Season," which captured the upbeat spirit of the riddim. Salem Kmg’s "Run Dat Town" was another standout, bringing energy to the dancefloor. Killa T delivered "Respect Killa T," showing the lyrical style he is known for. Maad Vultaje contributed "Hear I Call," adding his unique voice to the mix. Distinction Ital’s "Ndichakutevera" also stood out, bringing a different flavor to the compilation. Each artist brought their own style, and some had already made names for themselves. For example, Killa T is recognized in the dancehall community for his sharp delivery and presence. Distinction Ital has been part of several collaborations in the reggae world, gaining respect for his conscious lyrics. The riddim’s strong production and catchy rhythms made it a hit with DJs and crowds. Even now, more than a decade later, selectors still play "Winter Season Riddim" at sessions, keeping the 2012 vibe alive and showing the lasting power of this dancehall drop.
