WD-40 RIDDIM produced by TROBK EMG 2013
Wd-40 Overview
The story of the Wd-40 Riddim begins in the heart of the dancehall scene in 2019. Beat maker Trobak crafted the riddim with sharp, driving drums and a deep, pulsing bassline. The sound was raw and energetic, designed for bashment parties and street dances. The project came to life under the guidance of producer TROBK EMG. Known for his steady hand in the studio, TROBK EMG had already built a reputation for shaping dancehall hits and working with both new and established artists. His label, TROBK Music, had seen success with several digital releases, helping to push dancehall sounds to a wider audience. With the riddim in place, a strong lineup of artists joined the project. Khalig delivered “Boom Pon The Stick,” a track filled with high-energy lyrics and a catchy hook. Pamputtae and Tech Sound teamed up for “Go By,” blending Pamputtae’s fierce delivery—well known from her breakout single “Sticky Wine”—with Tech Sound’s smooth flow. Potential Kid, who rose to fame with the viral hit “A Yah So Nice,” added “Something & Wave,” bringing his playful style to the mix. Road Elf dropped “Wah Yuh Waah,” and Trobak rounded out the release with the title track “Wd40 Riddim.” When the riddim hit the streets, it quickly became a favorite at dances and on radio. Years later, selectors still reach for Wd-40 Riddim, keeping its bashment flow alive in the dancehall. The energy captured in 2019 remains strong, a true testament to its impact.
