Bad Rock Records’ Tek Over Riddim sits in that early-2010s run of quick-hit dancehall juggling, a seven-track set from 2011 that keeps the focus on sharp, street-minded voices rather than an overpacked lineup. Ding Dong’s “Caan Run We Over” is the obvious head-turner, but the riddim also gets good mileage out of Eklypse on “Mek It Happen Nuh” and Voicemail on “Party Up, ” with Zhand High and Kimmey Blacks closing things out on “You Mi Love. ” The production has that lean, no-nonsense pulse dancehall was leaning into around that time, with enough bounce for party cuts and enough edge for the tougher songs to bite.
