Overcast Riddim (2012) – Bad Rock Records

Overcast is a lean little 2012 dancehall set, and the lineup keeps it focused: Voicemail’s “Body Colliding” and Ding Dong’s “Live Like This” with Eklypse are the only vocal cuts, backed by the bare version piece. Bad Rock Records, working with Bena Productions on some references to the release, keeps the riddim trim rather than crowded, so every tune has room to land. The rhythm itself sits in that dry, mid-tempo dancehall pocket that leaves space for the artists to carry the attitude, and Ding Dong’s cut gets the sharper lift thanks to Eklypse’s feature. Voicemail comes in with the more straightforward party push, but it’s “Live Like This” that leaves the lasting mark, giving the whole Overcast package its edge.
