Dance Routine Riddim – Mash Recordz

Celcious and Viviun open the Dance Routine Riddim with “Come Dance, ” and that first cut sets the tone for the whole 2012 Mash Recordz set: slick, hooky dancehall aimed straight at the party floor, with enough room for the voices to carry the action. From there, the project moves through Josmas and Spycee’s “Anything For You, ” Viviun’s solo “Dance Routine, ” and sharper turns like Handichakude’s “Final Warning” and Reign’s “I Need You, ” before Ras Bajja closes with “Wine. ” It’s a compact six-track juggling, but the lineup keeps it from feeling one-note, moving between flirtation, warning-shot deejaying, and outright dance-calling. Viviun is the name that keeps coming back with the most presence, and “Dance Routine” itself feels like the anchor cut, the one that gives the riddim its title and its shape.
