Soak Riddim – Inna Mi House Music

Soak Riddim came in with that early-2010s dancehall energy that was all about bright, cheeky hooks and a steady waistline groove. Inna Mi House Music lines up Demarco, Tiana, RDX, Voicemail, Charly Black and Spice across a 10-cut set, and the strongest pulls are the obvious crowd-movers: Demarco’s “Wine Go Down, ” RDX’s “Wtf, ” and Spice’s “Wine and Guh Down. ” The riddim has that clean, clipped bounce that leaves plenty of room for the artistes to work the party angle, while Bencil’s “Anytime Di Rain A Fall” and Daville’s “Come Mek We Touch” add a slightly smoother edge. Coming out in October 2012, it sits neatly alongside the label’s other club-minded dancehall projects, but this one keeps its focus tight and its attitude playful.
