Rohan Rankine, born 18 October 1983 in St.Thomas, Jamaica is a dancehall and reggae recording artist. His musical interests started at a very young age whilst he was still in school. His buddies would have fun making beats on desks whilst he put in his vocal talent. Rohan’s influence came from the likes of Spragga Benz, Mavado and Bounty Killer. He was often found singing Sizzler’s songs and his big break came when he met with a Ward 21 Music Group female associate called Passion X who gave Rohan his stage name ‘Patexx.’ In 2008, DJ Kenny saw the talent in Patexx particularly through his song ‘Memories.’ Being one of the most popular DJs, he took Rohan to record a dub on the Pepperpot riddim. ‘Memories’ was played all over the world in the best stations for countries such as the USA, Canada, Germany, and England. There are many songs done by Patexx that have been incorporated into various riddims like the well-known ‘Summertime,’ which had a remix that Busta Rhymes featured. Another number was ‘Party Everyday’ produced by Vybz Entertainment Records. ‘Move and Go Weh,’ ‘Cook,’ ‘Wine and Go Dung,’ ‘Bigfoot’ are more singles he did including ‘Come Offa mi name,’ ‘Bareback,’ and ‘Neva Switch’ are additions to his accolade of popular songs. With his signature slogan ‘any day now,’ Patexx continues investing in Dancehall and his music videos can attest to this. ‘Mi Alright’ video released in 2013 featured Bounty Killer. ‘Party Nice’ also featured Keiva & Sadiki also saw 2013. From the period of 2014 to date he has done many collaborations on countless riddims such as East 180 riddim, Punanny riddim, Blue Book riddim just to mention a few.
