Echo One Productions came with Back To Reality Riddim in 2011, a 14-track dancehall set that keeps the focus on singers and combination cuts rather than brute-force bashment. The lineup moves from Ashani’s rough-edged “Battle May Be Ruff” to Bridgez and Sahie’s plaintive “Cry, ” then into relationship talk on Delus and Nefatari’s “Mr. and Mrs. Understanding, ” with Iyara and Qq adding a more reflective touch on “Home Alone” and “Stay In School. ” The riddim itself sits in that mid-tempo, radio-friendly lane where melody does a lot of the heavy lifting, and Echo One even closes the sequence with the instrumental version. If there’s a track that leaves the deepest mark, it’s Masta J and Fire Wayne’s “I’ll Be Your Star, ” which gives the project a sharper finish.
