The Storm Riddim sound system cut was released by the influential label, Greensleeves Records. Known for shaping dancehall in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Greensleeves helped bring authentic bashment sounds to a global audience. The Storm Riddim, produced by ELEMENT OF SURPRISE, was one of their standout projects from the year 2000. ELEMENT OF SURPRISE is recognized for crafting hard-hitting riddims that became staples in dancehall sessions, and their productions have been featured on several classic Greensleeves riddim albums. On this riddim, three artists brought their own unique style. Buccaneer, known for his energetic delivery and pirate-themed persona, contributed the track "Choice." Buccaneer had already made waves in dancehall with hits like "Boom Bye Bye" and collaborations with other major artists. Sean Paul, who would later gain international fame with the Grammy-winning album "Dutty Rock," gave the riddim his song "Feeling The Vibes." At the time, Sean Paul was building his reputation with a string of dancefloor anthems. Spotlight, another featured artist, added his voice with the track "Guiness," helping to round out the riddim’s line-up. The Storm Riddim sound system cut captured the bold spirit of its time. In 2000, this yard session tape was a favorite in bashment sets, uniting dancehall fans with its infectious rhythm and standout performances.
