STAR DANCE RIDDIM produced by SMASH x PRECISION DIGITAL
Star Dance Overview
The 2013 carnival season brought us the Star Dance Riddim, a project filled with energy and bright melodies. This release features six tracks that DJs played throughout the festivals: “Unstoppable” by Cherise Ransome, “Maniac” by Dale Saunders, “Beautiful” by Fireball, “Supernova” by Nikisha, “Free” by Ricardo Drue and Crissanji, and “Dancing with the Stars” by Tian Winter. Each artist brought their own style to the riddim. Cherise Ransome shines on “Unstoppable,” showing the powerful vocals she is known for in the soca world. Dale Saunders delivers “Maniac,” adding his international flavor—fans might remember his 2012 hit “Catch Your Love,” which charted in several European countries. Fireball, famous for his global smash “What I Want,” keeps the party going with “Beautiful.” Nikisha’s “Supernova” adds a fresh voice, while Ricardo Drue and Crissanji team up on “Free,” bringing a smooth and catchy vibe. Tian Winter’s “Dancing with the Stars” rounds out the project with his signature soulful sound. The riddim’s sound comes from SMASH x PRECISION DIGITAL, a production team with a strong reputation in Caribbean music. Precision Productions, led by Kasey Phillips, is known for producing many soca hits, including Machel Montano’s “Vibes Cyah Done.” Their work on this riddim helped make it a favorite for carnival fans, and it still gets played today.
