S.m.e Riddim (2012) – Lylted Production

Lylted Production’s S. M. E Riddim comes off like a compact 2012 dancehall set with a local, bilingual feel rather than a big glossy crossover push. The seven-track lineup keeps the focus tight, and the strongest cuts lean into everyday themes: Fredo Faya’s “Lecole Des Sounds” sounds like a swaggering self-education anthem, while Hatta Faya’s “Respect Fanm” gives the riddim a more grounded, women-conscious angle. Boby Marco turns up twice, including the duet with Jahodjo on “Piti A Piti, ” which adds a nice call-and-response lift to the project.
