With eight cuts and a lean 2012 dancehall roster, Black Jack Riddim plays like a quick-fire juggling built for the dance rather than the radio. Munga opens hard with “Get Wasted, ” while the Jounia Skyy, Keida and Kurrupt link-up on “Vybz Whole Night” keeps the energy moving into a more playful, late-night groove. Bastic’s “Party Time” and Hollow Point’s “Ruff Skank” push the riddim’s rougher edge, with the production sitting in that brisk, bass-heavy pocket that leaves plenty of room for each voicing to punch through. YEN Productions keeps the arrangement tight and uncluttered, and Kerron Williams closes things out with “Never Switch, ” a finish that suits the project’s no-nonsense dancehall pulse.
