Thompson House Music keeps Tuff Talk Riddim lean and mean, with just four cuts and a stark little instrumental looping under the vocals, so the whole thing lands more like a focused 2012 dancehall statement than a sprawling juggling. Cregis takes the spotlight twice with “Mouth Seh” in raw and edit form, and Jahmiel’s “Off Guard” gives the set its cleanest hook, riding the beat with that clipped, confrontational edge the title suggests. It’s the kind of mid-2010s-style sound system dancehall that leans on pressure and attitude rather than big polish, and the short tracklist leaves plenty of room for the riddim itself to do the talking.
