Shuffler Riddim – Weedy G Soundforce

Shuffler Riddim comes in with that lean 2011 dancehall pressure Weedy G Soundforce were pushing at the time: tight drums, a clipped, forward-driving swing, and just enough melodic lift to keep the cuts moving without softening the edge. Cali P’s “Jah Love” and Sizzla’s “I’m So Happy” bring the kind of vocal urgency that sits well on this sort of rhythm, while Perfect Giddimani’s “Reggae Infection” and Skarra Mucci’s “Love Gone Crazy” add a bit more personality to the run. There’s a nice mix here too, from Bandito and Squishem opening with the title cut to Cookie The Herbalist and Charly B keeping the energy grounded in street-level dancehall talk. The instrumental closes the set off cleanly, which is exactly how a riddim like this should end.
