By 2017, Otantic Records had cut a compact little four-track dancehall set in Sweet Flash Riddim, and the whole thing moves with a clipped, mid-tempo pulse that leaves plenty of room for the vocals. Pamputtae’s “Pretty Step” feels like the anchor, with the kind of direct, cheeky phrasing that cuts through a bare-bones pattern, while Kym Hamilton’s “Life Time” and Sassy Silva’s “Me Tell You” lean into smoother melodic runs without softening the groove. The instrumental cut from Otrmk2 makes the production’s shape easy to hear: tight drums, a steady skank, and a bassline that stays low and rolling rather than trying to crowd the mix. It’s a short session, but the tempo sits right around the high-90s, which keeps the riddim taut and gives the singers space to ride the pocket cleanly.
