The Road Ready Riddim dancehall set started in the studio with a strong vision. Producer RSQTHP, known for his work with independent labels and a knack for crisp, modern dancehall beats, wanted to bring back the energy of classic riddims but with a fresh sound for 2015. RSQTHP has produced for several well-known Jamaican and UK artists and is respected for his clean, powerful mixes. With the riddim laid down, top artists were invited to voice their tracks. Bawse Dawg stepped up with “Oil Affi Release,” delivering a tough, catchy performance that stood out in dancehall parties. Galaxy P brought his unique style to “Grip It,” adding a playful energy that kept the riddim moving. Gappy Ranks, known internationally for his hit “Heaven in Her Eyes,” added “Informa” to the set, bringing his UK dancehall flavor to the mix. Sizzla, one of Jamaica’s most prolific artists and famous for songs like “Thank You Mama,” contributed “Call Up.” His track brought conscious lyrics and a commanding voice to the riddim. Spragga Benz, who has enjoyed chart success in the UK and collaborated with many international stars, gave fans “Bounce,” a song that fit perfectly into dancehall sessions. Strawny rounded out the set with “Watch Ova Me,” adding a heartfelt touch. The Road Ready Riddim became a key part of dancehall culture in 2015. It was played at every bashment and on sound systems, making each artist’s song a highlight of the year.
