RAIL UP RIDDIM produced by SANKOFA PRODUCTION 2010
Rail Up Overview
The Rail Up Riddim brought together some of dancehall’s most exciting names in 2010. Beenie Man Ft Lisa Hyper delivered “Nuh Stress Mi Out,” a track that showed Beenie Man’s long-standing ability to make hits—he is known worldwide for songs like “Who Am I (Sim Simma)” and has won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. Bounty Killa, a legend in dancehall, appeared twice on the riddim: teaming up with Doolas for “Not Scared Enough,” and solo on “Sieze Fire.” Bounty Killa is recognized for his deep voice and for helping launch the careers of artists like Vybz Kartel and Mavado. Cecile, who is known for her sharp lyrics and the hit “Can You Do the Work” with Sean Paul, added “Mi Tek Yuh Man.” Charley Black, who later became famous for his global hit “Gyal You a Party Animal,” was featured here with “Badman Nuh Bleach Clean.” The riddim was produced by SANKOFA PRODUCTION, a label known for creative dancehall releases. Sankofa Production has built a reputation for working with both established and rising artists, and their music often gets strong support in Jamaican dancehall parties.
