Valiant, the latest sensation in the dancehall music scene, achieved remarkable success in 2023, earning the prestigious title of “Artist of the Year” from his manager, Romeich Major. Amidst a series of hit releases that captivated dancehall enthusiasts, Valiant encountered a setback with a missed performance at Sting 2022. Undeterred, he pledged to deliver more exceptional music, a promise that he undeniably fulfilled.
Building on his triumphs, Valiant has reportedly secured a significant milestone by signing with the esteemed international record label Sony Music UK, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment based in London. Although the artist has not publicly acknowledged the reports, the label celebrated its artists’ nominations for the 2024 MOBO Awards on Instagram, where Valiant is recognized in the “Best Caribbean Music Act” category. As the sole Sony Music UK nominee in this category, Valiant stands alongside industry giants such as Koffee, Travis Scott, SZA, Doja Cat, Victoria Monet, H.E.R., Central Cee, WizKid, Tyla, Davido, and more.
Valiant’s latest project, a 6-track EP titled “A Gift From Me to You,” marked his collaboration with Sony Music UK under an exclusive license from Valiant / Diplomats. Released on December 18, 2023, the EP includes popular tracks like “BUDDUM” and “Poly,” each accompanied by music videos that have already surpassed half a million views on YouTube.
Valiant’s[/embed] association with Sony Music UK establishes him as only the second Jamaican act to join the British arm of Sony Music Entertainment. Wrapping up the successful year on a high note, he released the EP “A Gift From Me To You” in December, featuring five tracks produced by DJ Mac, Shymal, and Romeich. As Valiant looks ahead to a promising future, his journey in the international music scene continues to captivate audiences and solidify his status as a rising star in dancehall.
