At one stage in time, you could categorize Shenseea and Jada Kingdom in the same bracket but Shenseea has managed to pull away from Jada. The pair have gone from once close friends to enemies but there no longer seems to be any beef as they buried the hatchet. However, you cannot disregard Jada Kingdom’s talents and it came to the fore in her latest freestyle on Busta Rhymes’ Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See beat.
With hit tracks like Banana, Heavy, and Dickmatized, Jada Kingdom is no pushover for female dancehall artists and can go hard like in the Wicked Gyal Freestyle above. Born in Kingston Jamaica, Jada Kingdom whose government name is Jada Ashanti Murphy came to prominence in 2018 with her hit song Banana. She has admitted to struggling with bipolar disorder and recently confessed to suffering a miscarriage in November 2022. I am sure this has affected her ability to make music as she did admit to being down after her loss but she remains a relevant player in the game.
Jada[/embed] is poised to release her first studio album in 2023 and I am sure it will be riddled with passionate songs from the heart. Coming from a recent breakup with American rapper Nas EBK, Jada is quoted as saying,
“I would pay any amount of money to reset my life,” she had said in a tweet. “Dating men was a terrible phase, I hate myself intensely for that.”
So you can imagine all her emotions right now. This should make for a passionate album, right? And for the record, her ex Nas EBK should not be confused with Nasir Jones.
With Shenseea shining, Jada Kingdom is not way off. Look out for Jada Kingdoms tracks along with other female artists including Lila Ike, Koffee, Spice, and Indie Amoi.
