MYSTIC RIDDIM VOL.1 – CREATIV STUDIO 2000
Mystic Overview
The dub cut is an important part of reggae’s growth in recent years. In the Mystic Riddim release, the dub version stands out for its warm, deep bass and uplifting reggae feel. Compared to other roots anthologies from the early 2000s, this dub cut offers a cleaner sound and more space for each instrument. It lets the listener focus on each artist’s unique style while staying true to roots reggae traditions. Artikal & Moko’s “Madeline” is one of the highlights. Artikal is known for his strong voice and has a dedicated fan base in the French reggae scene. Moko’s vocals add a soulful touch, making this track memorable. Burning & Le Chat’s “Number One” brings a classic roots energy, showing why Burning is respected for his authentic reggae sound. The song “Skall Feat Moko - Rien De Nouveau” by Cl Rubben Pat — and also by Moko - Rien De Nouveau — is another example of how these artists keep the roots tradition alive. The lyrics and rhythms are true to reggae’s foundation but feel modern and fresh. L & Moko’s “Etre Libre” and Felix & Moko’s “On A La Foi” both show how collaborations can add new energy to a roots riddim. Jm & Jl Feat Moko’s “Nuff A Dem” and Moko - Nuff A Dem’s “Nuff A Dem” keep the conscious message strong. The studio hand plays a big role in shaping the sound.
