MY STYLE RIDDIM produced by MADSTORM PRODUCTION 1997
My Style Overview
In 1997, the selector’s choice came together in the studio with a clear goal: to create a powerful dancehall riddim that would stand out in sound clashes and club events. This project was carefully shaped by MADSTORM PRODUCTION, a label known for its energetic approach and attention to detail. MADSTORM PRODUCTION had already made a name for itself in the dancehall scene with a reputation for crisp, heavy beats and successful collaborations. The riddim brought together four artists, each adding their own style. Mega Banton, known for his deep voice and commanding presence, delivered “Nuff Woman.” Mega Banton had already made waves in the dancehall world with his earlier hit “Sound Boy Killing,” which remains a classic in sound system culture. Ricky General contributed “Woka Man.” Ricky General is respected for his smooth flow and catchy lyrics. He is well known for his song “Skettel Concerto,” which gained popularity in the mid-1990s and brought him international attention. Stephens, Tanya gave the project “You Come First.” Tanya Stephens is celebrated for her strong songwriting and unique voice. She later achieved major success with her album “Gangsta Blues” in 2004, which featured the hit “It’s a Pity.” Selectors made sure to include this compilation in 1997’s biggest events, helping the riddim become a staple in dancehall culture.
