Brawlin Records takes a slightly leaner, more street-facing turn on Style Riddim, swapping out any glossy polish for a tense, driving dancehall groove that leaves room for the voices to cut through. Jasonxturn’s “Fly Pon Plane” with Star Bawn sets a high-energy pace, while Dans Brawlin’s “Drip 1, ” Don Scrue’s “Get Gyal, ” and King Moses’ “Hold Mi Own” keep the project locked into rough-edged party talk and bossman bravado. Issued as a seven-track EP in March 2019, it runs just 23 minutes, so the whole thing moves with the snap of a DJ set rather than a long-form compilation. Vision Lineage closes it out with “Wan Don 1, ” and the instrumental has enough bite and swing to make the riddim itself feel like the final statement.
