Mad World Riddim – Di Genius Records

Mad World Riddim arrived in 2013 from Di Genius Records with Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor at the helm, and it sits comfortably in the part of his catalogue where sharp, modern dancehall construction meets heavy rotation appeal. McGregor, the Kingston-born son of Freddie McGregor, had already built a reputation as one of Jamaica’s most accomplished young producers, and this juggling reflects that confidence: clean drums, a stern bassline, and a tense, militant pulse that leaves plenty of room for deejays to push attitude. The instrumental is lean rather than flashy, with enough grit to carry streetwise lyrics without crowding the vocal.

The lineup is anchored by Agent Sasco, Mavado, Chino, Bramma, Laden, Frisco Kid, Deablo, Singing Sweet, and O. C. , with McGregor himself also cutting a vocal.
