Lucky 7 Riddim has that 2007 mid-era dancehall snap: lean drums, a tidy groove, and just enough room for the singers to lean into the tune without crowding it. Tarrus Riley’s “Life So Hard” is the one that lingers longest, because he turns the rhythm into something warmer and more reflective than its bare-bones setup first suggests, while I-Octane’s “Straight From The Ghetto” keeps the street-level pressure on. Pinchers, too, slides in with “Forgive Me” and gives the riddim a bit of veteran polish, which suits a set that’s packed into six tracks but still manages to feel like a proper little scene snapshot.
