The Swarm Riddim – Klash City Records

Four cuts, four different voices, and The Swarm Riddim wastes no time letting the lineup do the talking: Aidonia’s “Hot Fuck, ” Jah Mason’s “I Told You, ” Roundhead’s “Roll Out, ” and Vybz Kartel’s “Gal Dem Hot. ” Released in 2007 on Klash City Records, it came out as part of 77Klash’s run of late-2000s dancehall productions, and the sound has that raw, forward-leaning edge he was known for at the time. Aidonia’s opener is the obvious hook here, with Kartel closing the set in fine form, while Jah Mason and Roundhead keep the energy moving without breaking the tension. The sequencing feels deliberate, moving from younger heat to veteran weight, and then back into the kind of sly, dance-ready finish that leaves the riddim feeling compact and sharply focused.
