By 2007, dancehall was deep into its digital, street-level phase, and Double Kick Riddim fits right into that moment with a lean, hard-edged pulse that leaves plenty of room for the deejays to cut through. Blaque Warriaaz Muzic keep the arrangement taut and percussive, with Elephant Man’s “Spit Foam” and “Talk Bout Clothes” leaning into his usual brash, cartoonish swagger, while Ras Myrhdak brings a more militant streak on “Samsung” and “Warriah Nuh Fraid. ” The Ghost and General Party combination on “Hot Girls Party” and the Ghost and Roundhead cut “Hi Grade Party” add a looser, more playful contrast, but the rhythm never loses its snap. It’s a compact six-track set, and the final Ras Myrhdak tune lands like a firm closing statement before the instrumental takes over.
