Standpipe Riddim lands in that sharp mid-2000s dancehall pocket where the bass stays tense and the hook lines are all about attitude, movement, and local swagger. The cut that really jumps out is Elephant Man’s “Borderline, ” which comes in both edit and raw versions, while Lexxus gets the same treatment on “Buss A Wine, ” a sign the producer was aiming for both radio polish and street-ready pressure. Vybz Kartel also appears on the original 2007 set, and that alone tells you the riddim had serious pull in its day.
