Locking Overview
In early 2013, a new dancehall compilation called Locking Riddim dropped in Jamaica. The release quickly became a favorite at parties and street dances, earning its place as a real yard anthem that year. The Locking Riddim brought together a strong lineup of artists. Luckie Itch stood out with "Nah Mix Wit Dem," bringing his signature flow and catchy style. Maggikal, known for his presence on the local scene, added "Bad People," a track that matched his energetic delivery. Chains Cheezy teamed up with Quadvoice for "Gal Whine," a song that got a lot of play in dancehalls. Quadvoice also appeared solo with "Gal Whine," showing his versatility as a performer. Natural Vibes and Quick Cy joined forces on "Wizer Dan Dem," giving the riddim a different flavor. Another highlight came from Quadvoice & Alex.T with "Locking Ya Door." The compilation also featured tracks like "Ndarambwa" by Nectar, "Undercover" by Talliban, "Iphone" by Missle, and "Handitye" by Ras Bronx. Behind the boards, SCRAPPERS RECORDS handled production. The label is known for its work in the dancehall world and has produced several popular riddims that have racked up big streaming numbers online.
