Seven cuts deep, Stress Riddim keeps the focus tight, with Firelamp, I-Bel and Talliban among the names carrying the weight on this 2013 Scrappers Records and Rippas Records juggling. The rhythm has that lean, pressure-cooker dancehall feel: dry drums, a pulsing bass line and just enough space for the deejays to jab at each other with brash, streetwise hooks. Maggikal, Quadvoice, Talliban and M Thang team up on “Na Fear Na Boy, ” which gives the project its rowdiest moment, while Scoffie D’s “Bless Dem” and Ras Prynciple’s “De Best” keep the energy sharp without overcomplicating the formula. Talliban closes things out again on “Pull Up, ” and that final cut leaves the whole set feeling like one long rally built for forward motion.
