Laminated Riddim – G.T. Promotion

Laminated Riddim cuts straight into the darker side of mid-2000s reggae, with a hard, driving groove that gives the singers plenty of room to sharpen their warning songs. G. T. Promotion lined it up in 2007 with a heavyweight cast, and Anthony B’s “No Bwoy Can Dis” sits right in the pocket alongside Capleton’s “Get Us Down” and Fantan Mojah’s “Done Dem, ” all three leaning into the kind of militant, streetwise energy this rhythm was made for.
