By 2007, reggae and dancehall were leaning hard into stark digital rhythms and catchy one-drop hooks, and Xv Riddim sits right in that moment with a compact ten-track set that keeps the energy moving between dancehall chatter and smoother melodic turns. Macka Diamond’s “Tight” and Merciless’ “You Hot” give the project some of its sharpest personality, while Voicemail’s “Thing Set Up” and Doc’s “Dutty Wine” lean into the street-level swagger that was running through the genre at the time. The production credit is listed simply as Various Artists, but the riddim itself is given a full instrumental cut, which lets the groove breathe between the voicings. Agent, Arryval, Brandish, Frassman and Mr Easy round out the lineup across ten tracks, ending with the “Xv Riddim” version cut.
