JUNE BOMB RIDDIM (PART 2) – PLATTA STUDIO 2014
June Bomb Overview
If you were following dancehall in 2014, you probably heard the June Bomb Riddim yard session tape. This riddim stood out for its bright, punchy sound and fresh energy. The track builder behind the riddim put a lot of work into blending traditional dancehall rhythms with a new, upbeat style. The recording process focused on capturing that live, yard session feeling—raw but polished, with each artist bringing real personality to the mic. While the producer’s name is not always front and center, the riddim’s crisp production and smooth transitions between tracks show real skill behind the boards. Selectors quickly picked up this tape, and it became a favorite at dancehall events across the year. Blaxx delivered “Badness,” adding his well-known powerful voice to the mix. Erphaan Alves, who later gained attention for his hit “Overdue,” gave fans “25 To Life,” showing his lyrical range. Patrice Roberts, famous for her work with Machel Montano on “Band of the Year,” brought a strong vibe with “Push Up On It.” Preedy’s “Push Back” kept the energy high, while Skinny Fabulous, who won the Soca Monarch title in 2019, made his mark with “Anywhere Dat We Step.” These artists helped shape the riddim into a true dancehall set, each adding their own style and making June Bomb Riddim a memorable release from 2014.
