Kerry Riddim – Rebel Sound Records

Rebel Sound Records kept Kerry Riddim lean in 2014, and the small cast gives it a sharp, club-ready edge: seven tracks, seven voices, no wasted motion. Ataru’s “High Grade” and Doza Medicine’s “Rich In A Life” ride the same hard dancehall pulse from different angles, while Kannon English and Nuclear push the party talk a little further toward the rave side of the lane. Frisco Kid is the name that carries the most weight here, and “Nuh Fear Dem” lands like the tune everyone else has to measure up against, with I-Marley’s “Burn Dem” adding some extra heat in the middle of the set. The instrumental closes it out clean, but Frisco Kid’s cut leaves the deepest imprint.
