Hotta Step Riddim came through in 2013 from Chiney K Records, the imprint tied to Paul Chin, and it sits among the stronger mid-2010s roots-oriented juggling sets from that corner of the scene. Chiney K had already been circulating his own name as an artist, and this project folds that dual identity together: producer, label boss, and one of the voices on the rhythm. The release was issued in late May 2013, and the tracklist places it squarely in the reggae lane rather than the harder dancehall side.

The riddim has a militant, skanking pulse with a steady forward motion that leaves room for hooks and message songs. It’s the kind of cut that lets singers stretch out over a clean foundation instead of crowding the mix. That suits the lineup well. Luciano and Nitty Kutchie bring a spiritual, harmony-heavy chant on “Freedom, ” while Sizzla and Anthony Red Rose turn “Mr. Right” into a sharper combination piece.
