Hot Pot Riddim produced by Mad91 and Unity Sound 2024
Hot Pot Overview
The 2024 roots reggae anthology built its foundation on a strong dub cut, giving the whole project a classic sound system feel. The production came from Mad91, a Spanish producer known for his work with reggae and dancehall artists across Europe. He teamed up with Unity Sound, a respected sound system and label with a long history in reggae music, especially in Japan and Spain. Jah Nattoh led the way with "Vale La Pena," showing his steady presence in the Spanish reggae scene. Shabu followed with "Paz Y Amor," a song that fits his reputation for positive, conscious lyrics. Grankhan, who once collaborated with SFDK on the hit "Sigo Aquí," added his own touch with "Sobre El Ruido." Each artist brought their unique style while staying true to roots reggae traditions. The anthology also featured Ganjahr Family with "Sound Killer," and Kafu Banton with "Soy Salvo." Kafu Banton, from Panama, is well known for his work in Latin American reggae, including his appearance on the remix of "Amor de Lejos" by Flex. Other highlights included Lasai’s "Rock Dis Party," Hermano L’s "Good Sound," Emeterians’ "Roots Reggae Rock," and Cookah P’s "Bruk Lovers Anthem." Together, these songs and artists kept the roots reggae message strong in 2024. The careful production by Mad91 and Unity Sound helped the anthology stand out, connecting global reggae communities and showing the depth of the genre.
