Fern Gully Riddim – Flava Squad 2010
Fern Gully Overview
In 2010, the Fern Gully Riddim compilation came out of Jamaica and quickly became a big hit in dancehall circles. This collection brought together some of the top names in the scene, each adding their own style to the riddim’s lively, street-inspired sound. Beenie Man, known worldwide for hits like "Who Am I (Sim Simma)," delivered the track "Come Touch Me Nuh." His energetic flow and catchy hooks helped set the tone for the whole compilation. Cp Ink’s "Dem Nuh Like Yo" added a fresh voice to the mix, giving the riddim even more variety. Delly Ranks, who is respected for his work both as an artist and a producer, dropped "Back It Up." Delly Ranks has been a part of many dancehall classics over the years and his experience shines through on this track. Mr. Future’s "Girl Me Nah Play" kept the party going with smooth lyrics and a strong beat. The duo of New Kidz and Singer J teamed up for "Nothing But Love," bringing a mix of rough and smooth vocals that balanced the riddim nicely. Each artist used the Fern Gully Riddim’s hardcore base and catchy melodies to create songs that got plenty of play in dances and on the radio.
