Coney Island Overview
The festival collection known as Coney Island Riddim brought together a vibrant set of tracks for Carnival 2019. The standout songs on this compilation included Bunji Garlin & Fay — Ann Lyons with "Bus-A-Wine," Lyrikal with "Stink," and Nessa Preppy with "Cupid." Each track offered a unique energy, making the collection a favorite during the season’s celebrations. Bunji Garlin & Fay — Ann Lyons are well-known figures in soca music. Bunji Garlin, for example, is famous for his international hit "Differentology," which won the 2013 Soul Train Award for Best International Performance. Fay — Ann Lyons is also a celebrated artist, known for her powerful stage presence and multiple Road March titles in Trinidad and Tobago. Their collaboration on "Bus-A-Wine" brought together their dynamic chemistry and Carnival spirit. Lyrikal contributed "Stink" to the collection. Lyrikal, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, has made a name for himself in the soca world with songs like "Loner" and appearances at major festivals across the Caribbean and North America. His energetic style on "Stink" added to the lively mood of the riddim. Nessa Preppy’s "Cupid" rounded out the selection. Nessa Preppy gained recognition with her breakout single "Tingo," which became a hit in 2018 and helped establish her as a rising star in soca. The producer behind the Coney Island Riddim, LONDON FUTURE, is known for blending Caribbean sounds with electronic music.
