A MINOR RIDDIM produced by KINGSOUND PRODUCTION 2017
A Minor Overview
In 2017, the reggae scene saw a fresh addition with the release of a roots-driven compilation built on the A Minor Riddim. The journey of this track base began in the studio with a focus on classic reggae sounds, guided by the vision of the culture arranger. The riddim was carefully crafted to echo the warmth and energy of reggae’s golden era, while still sounding modern. At the heart of the project was KINGSOUND PRODUCTION. Known for their commitment to authentic reggae and dub, KINGSOUND PRODUCTION has helped shape the sound of several roots releases. Their productions are recognized for clean, deep basslines and rich dub effects, making them a respected name among reggae producers and sound system selectors. The riddim came alive with performances from three artists. El Vynom delivered “Too Long,” bringing his own style to the roots foundation. Mantse Superfly added “The Leaders,” a track that stands out with its uplifting message. Mantse Superfly is known for his energetic stage presence and has collaborated with artists across Africa and the Caribbean. Rymzo contributed “Liberate And Focus.” Rymzo is a well-known reggae artist from Nigeria, famous for his song “Rock N Roll” and his album “Take Mediocre Off Stage.” His participation brought extra attention to the compilation, especially among African reggae fans. This collection kept reggae’s roots alive in 2017, offering a sound that was ready for both radio play and powerful sound system sessions.
