Life Essence Overview
In the studio, the rocksteady flow of the Life Essence Riddim came together with care and vision. The roots selector behind the project wanted to bring back the classic reggae feeling, focusing on deep basslines and a steady rhythm. This creative direction guided the musicians and singers as they built each track, making sure the sound stayed true to reggae’s roots. CDV PRODUCTIONS led the project. This label is known for working with both new and established reggae artists. Over the years, CDV PRODUCTIONS has released several popular riddims and built a solid reputation in the reggae community. Their experience helped shape the Life Essence Riddim, giving it a timeless sound that fits well into reggae history. Each artist brought their own style to the riddim. “She’s Gone [Explicit” by Hyer Dan stands out with its heartfelt delivery and catchy hook. Hyer Dan is respected for his unique voice and energetic performances. Shawn J’s “Free” adds a thoughtful vibe, with lyrics about hope and freedom. Shawn J is known for his lyrical skills and has worked with several producers in the reggae scene. “Weh Dem Ago Do” by Kemikal J brings a sharp edge to the riddim, showing Kemikal J’s talent for storytelling. Jahci Kole’s “First Lady” closes the set with a smooth, melodic touch. Jahci Kole has earned praise for her soulful voice and has appeared on other reggae projects.
