Xcitement Riddim – Seanizzle Records

Bright and brash, Xcitement Riddim catches Seanizzle in that 2008 pocket where dancehall was all sharp-edged hooks, sly sexual talk and heavyweight bounce. The line between producer and artist feels especially tight here: Bounty Killer’s “Gal Dem Say” and Lady Saw’s “Inna Di Dark” sit right in Seanizzle’s wheelhouse, while RDX and Tyrical keep the riddim moving with that quick, rude energy that made the era so addictive. There’s a nice little contrast too, with Future Fambo’s “Around Di World” and Galaxy P’s “Sugar Cock” pushing the project into more playful territory without softening the knock. The package comes with raw and edit versions for several cuts, plus a version at the end, which feels like a proper dancehall set rather than just a loose compilation.
