WHOO A.K.A THE DOCTOR RIDDIM produced by K.LICIOUS MUSIC
Whoo A.K.A The Doctor Overview
In 1999, the Whoo A. K. A The Doctor Riddim was born inside the studio of K.LICIOUS MUSIC. The label, run by producer Kirk “K.Licious” Bennett, had already made a mark in dancehall with its sharp production style and bold riddims. For this project, K.LICIOUS MUSIC worked closely with a bashment arranger who crafted the riddim’s energetic, party-ready sound. The riddim soon attracted some of dancehall’s top voices. Beenie Man, known for his international hit “Who Am I (Sim Simma),” delivered “The Doctor,” a track that quickly became a favorite in dancehall sessions. Hawkeye’s “Mus Hole Yu” added his signature wit and lively flow, while Inspector Grizzley brought a unique flavor with “Pigeon List.” Lexxus, who would later score big with “Full Hundred,” kept the energy high on “Like It Hot.” Mega Banton, famous for his 1990s anthem “Sound Boy Killing,” joined in with “What A Gal.” Other artists also contributed to the riddim’s buzz. Sadeki offered “Love How Yu Tan,” Tanto Metro & Devonte came with “Sensmilia,” and Tony Curtis added “Sexual Attraction.” The Doctor — Instrumental rounded off the set, letting the riddim shine on its own. This collection pulsed through sound systems across Jamaica in 1999, making the Whoo A. A The Doctor Riddim a true bashment classic.
