Y2k Riddim – Greensleeves Records

Greensleeves Records handled the Y2K Riddim in 1999, a dancehall set built around sharp, street-ready cuts from Bounty Killer, Hawkeye and Mr. Vegas. The tracklist keeps it tight with Bounty Killer’s Black Power, Hawkeye’s Thug Anthem and Mr. Vegas’s Thumbs Up, three songs that helped give the rhythm its crossover name as the Black Power/Y2K riddim. Greensleeves was already a major force in dancehall by then, and this release fits the label’s habit of pairing big names with memorable one-riddim selections.
