WAR SHIP RIDDIM produced by TRUE JAMAICAN CREW
War Ship Overview
The journey of the War Ship Riddim began in the studios of Jamaica, where the beat maker crafted a heavy, energetic rhythm that captured the spirit of 2011 dancehall. The producer behind the project, TRUE JAMAICAN CREW, brought years of experience to the table. Known for their work with up-and-coming talent and their label’s focus on authentic dancehall, the crew helped shape the sound and direction of the compilation. Their influence is especially strong, as they also contributed their own tracks, “Version” and “Zvon Gilz,” giving the riddim a signature stamp. From there, the rhythm reached the hands of hungry new artists, each eager to make their mark. Dark Angel seized the moment with “Pagan Bwoy,” delivering a forceful performance that caught the attention of many dancehall fans. Imal followed with “Set Good,” using the riddim’s energy to showcase his lyrical skills. Lion Blaze And Dawg A Log teamed up for “All Trees,” blending their voices over the bass-heavy beat. Medycin Man’s “Dem Nuh Badda Dan Wi” added another layer, while Ras Ophir’s “Ring Di Alarm” brought a rootsy edge to the collection. Rastandah contributed with “Jah Rastafari,” rounding out the lineup. For several of these artists, this compilation was their first big break, opening doors for future projects and collaborations. War Ship Riddim stood out as one of the bashment highlights of 2011, uniting new voices and seasoned producers.
