Vincy Chutney Riddim

Vincy Chutney Riddim is a compact 2003 Vincy Music cut that sits a little apart from the label’s later, more obviously soca-leaning work, leaning instead into a straighter dancehall frame with chutney flavoring rather than full carnival bounce. There are only two tunes here — Full Clip and Chris’ “Look So Good” and Skinny Fabulous’ “Believe Me” — and that small lineup keeps the focus on the riddim itself. The production has a lean, regional feel: snappy drum programming, a dry low end, and a light melodic figure that nods toward chutney without crowding the vocal space. Skinny Fabulous is the name that carries the most weight now, and his early turn on “Believe Me” gives the set its clearest pull.
