Playtime Riddim – Krush Proof Muzik 2019

Krush Proof Muzik kept Playtime Riddim in the same straight-ahead dancehall lane the label had been working through at the time, but the draw here is how tightly it’s sequenced around a small cast of voices. Released on August 9, 2019, it runs seven tracks in about 20 minutes, with Mr Lexx leading off on “Giggle Wine” in both clean and raw versions before Pamputtae returns the same split on “Attack. ” Diani and Tok Bay C’s “Follow You” and Kanvers’ “Nah Get Weh” break up the duplicates, so the whole thing feels aimed at selector use as much as artist showcase. The title cut closes it out, which gives the riddim a neat, self-contained finish.
