True Frenz Riddim – Smartkid Records

True Frenz Riddim has that early-2012 dancehall snap: lean, militant, and wired for sound-system pressure. Smartkid Records kept the lane tight with just five cuts, and the names tell you the angle straight away — Beenie Man, Lutan Fyah, Zamunda, and Gavodem all circling the same mood of distrust and badmind. Lutan Fyah’s “Everything Dirty Fi Dem” sits nicely against Beenie Man’s “Caan Bait Me Up, ” with the veteran’s sharper patter cutting through the riddim’s tense groove while Smartkid’s own instrumental closes the set like a producer stamp at the end of a hard conversation. Smartkid had already been building momentum around Kingston, and this one feels like a compact step in that run, right down to the clean, no-frills track list.
