Training School Riddim – Traina Records

Coming out of Traina Records in 2016, Training School Riddim feels like a straight dancehall classroom: tight, uncluttered, and built for artists to lecture over a hard-running one-drop of a different kind. Perfect Giddimani’s “Zip Up U Mouth” and Fantan Mojah’s “Look Woman” sit nicely beside Jigsy King’s “Gal Caa Too Much, ” while Teflon keeps the tension up on “Headline” and Tally closes the circle on “Go Fi Dem. ” The presence of Traina Oneboss on “Me Anuh Send Out” gives the juggling a small in-house edge, and the instrumental at the end lets the rhythm breathe for a minute, just enough.
