Touch Down Riddim – Various Artists

There’s a sly little 2008 dancehall pulse running through Touch Down Riddim, with seven cuts and a proper version at the end, so the whole thing plays like a compact selector’s tool rather than a sprawling compilation. Charley Blacks opens hard on “Campaign Against Badmind” with Mikeylous in tow, then comes back again on “Badda Than Dem, ” and that repeat appearance gives the set a nice anchor. Dadda’s “Good Fi Belly” and Zalla B’s “Dem Want Fi Stop We” keep the energy on the attack, while Glammation’s “Think About Yuh Life” adds a sharper, more reflective edge. The production is credited simply to Various Artists, which fits the no-frills approach here, and the sequencing feels deliberate: frontline tunes up top, a dub-free run through the voices, then the riddim itself closing things out clean.
