Double Joint Release Details

By 2008, Don Corleon was already leaning into that sharp, digital dancehall pressure, and Double Joint sits right in that pocket with a garagey snap under the drums and bass while Bounty Killer, Buju Banton, and Vybz Kartel each cut through the rhythm in their own way; Kartel’s “Keep It Clean” and Buju’s “In A Mi Bed” are the ones that stick quickest, but Alaine’s “With U” brings a smoother edge that keeps the set from running one-note. The riddim feels less like a throwback for its own sake than a clean update of late-’80s dancehall structure, the kind of juggling that lets every voice hit hard without crowding the track. Don Corleon even steps in with his own “Double Joint (Edit), ” and the line-up also includes Assassin, Bling Dawg, Flexxx, and Wasp across nine cuts.
