From Jamaica’s 2008 dancehall circuit, Badda Dan Riddim lands as a tight little Black Lizard Studios juggling of 13 cuts across 8 artists, with the tracklist leaning hard on blunt, streetwise titles and a few names looping back more than once. Crocadile and Alley kyatt do most of the heavy lifting here, while Kingfa Red and Louie Dan, Pizo, Rocktion and Zionomi each get a run over the same stripped-down juggling, which gives the whole set that early-2000s bashment feel where the energy comes from repetition and attitude rather than polish. The sequence moves from “Artist and Dj” and “Put It In” through “Whoops” and “Hitt Song, ” then keeps grinding through multiple Crocadile and Alley kyatt selections before closing on “Mega Mixx. ” Black Lizard Studios handled the production in 2008.
